The Tokens
is an extremely melancholy tale of the orphaned children in the late
1700’s. The story is surprising because
of the amount of hard shipped faced at infancy. Their mothers did not only
leave these children, but they had no guarantees with the hospital. Many who did
attain refuge didn’t even survive. Being placed in such a peculiar and
heart-wrenching situation can surely shine light on the value of little things.
These children mostly likely grew to have endless questions for each of the
objects they were placed with and inevitably began to thoroughly identify
themselves with it. Although this story is rather depressing it does make one
realize the capacity of sentimental value even the tiniest of objects can have.
Objects can have the power to symbolize the most significant parts of a human
being and in the case of The Tokens, one’s
life.
